Si vives en Barcelona ahora tienes la opción de practicar tu inglés sin coste alguno para tu bolsillo. Atrás quedaron esos momentos de sentirse extraño, en situaciones incomodas, delante de otra gente que no volverás a ver. Te proponemos dos atractivas opciones que seguro que te resultarán interesantes y te garantizarán un buen rato:

Happy Fridays

C/ d'En Gignàs 2, Barrio Gòtic

Es un evento de intercambio de idiomas que se celebra una vez al mes organizado por la escuela Oxford House. Cada Happy Fridays varía de localización, actividad y premios pero siempre enfocado a disfrutar la noche. Desde una fiesta ambientada en Halloween, noches de karaoke o incluso algún monólogo cómico en inglés que te garantizarán un buen momento mientras tienes la oportunidad de usar el inglés, no sólo con otros estudiantes si no también con profesores de la escuela.

Es el único intercambio de idiomas de este tipo en Barcelona. Ninguna escuela en la ciudad ha diseñado un producto en el que vayas a disfrutar tanto, mientras sin darte cuenta aprendes inglés. Conviene visitar regularmente su página en Facebook, donde ofrecen información sobre eventos, promociones y útiles herramientas para aprender inglés.

Speaking Club

Cada Jueves de 20:00 a 23:00

Zafra C/ Girona 84, Metro Girona

También organizado por Oxford House esta es otra fantástica manera de mejorar tu fluidez de forma com.pletamente gratuita, mientras conoces y te relaciones con gente de tu misma edad. Se realiza en Zafra en frente de la escuela en un ambiente relajado y distendido, con la parte posterior del local adecuada para este evento Javi, el dueño del bar es el perfecto anfitrión, siempre preocupándose de que todo fluya, en las concurridas noches en las que estudiantes y profesores se acercan tras sus clases de inglés, español, catalán u otro idioma.

Si te apetece probar, solamente necesitas presentarte en el cuarto habilitado, al fondo bar el día indicado y unirte al grupo. No hay sitio donde sentarse o mesas, así que no tendrás más que mezclarte entre el grupo. No importa tu nivel, sólo las ganas que tengas de comunicarte.

Gone are the days of awkward moments stumbling over words with someone you will never see again at yet another stale language exchange event. Below, we recommend two of the best places to practise English which guarantee a great time with great people.

Happy Fridays

Las Cuevas de Sorte (the location changes each month, check the Facebook page for updates)

C/ d'En Gignàs 2, Barrio Gòtic

This is a language exchange event celebrated every month and organised by the popular language academy Oxford House. Each event has a surprise location, activity and prizes, with a focus simply on enjoying the night. From Halloween party, night of karaoke or comedy in English you can be guaranteed a great time, whilst having the opportunity to use English with not just other language learners but also teachers from the school.

This is the only type of language exchange event in Barcelona. No other language academy in the city has come up with a product as enjoyable as this with the aim of helping language learners improve their speaking skills or overcome a lack of confidence when speaking - without even realising it. It’s worth checking their Facebook page, where regular information is given about upcoming events, promotions and useful tools to facilitate language learning.

Also organised by Oxford House, this is another fantastic way to improve your fluency for free, while meeting people of the same age. The location is Zafrá, a relaxed and comfortable place, with the back room set up just for this. Javi, owner of the bar and the perfect host, always makes sure the evening goes with a swing and most nights it’s packed as students and teachers make their way across the road after class and local business owners drop by after a day’s work to practise English, Spanish, Catalan or any other language.

Interested? You just have to go to the bar and join the group in the back room. There’s almost no sitting or tables so you’re sure to be able to mix in straight away. Any level can join - you just need the motivation to communicate with like-minded people.
